Beverages major Coca Cola has reported over 20% growth in sales volume in Q1 throughout India. This news was out during the announcement of global earnings; growth was led by Coca cola brand whose sales increased by 27%.
World-wide volume growth was 5%; China and Brazil have recorded increase by 9% and 4% respectively. Developed markets like North America saw a growth of 2%, Japan and Germany witnessed growth of 3% each.
In Q1, company’s income stood at $2.05 billion which increased by 8% compared to $1.9 billion in the same period during last fiscal. Net revenue was up by 6% from the same quarter last year. These stats show that the demand is increasing for such non-alcoholic ready to drink beverages and Coca- Cola is making the most use of it. Though there was a mixed global growth, India was top among the revenues.
