According to a senior Delhi Division official, the new Facebook page is linked to the National Train inquiry Service and is constantly updated. The page will provide detailed information on arrivals and departures at the exact platform number at Nizamudin, Old Delhi stations and New Delhi.

With an aim to prevent the misuse of available seats by unprincipled individuals, Railways has requested other zones to resort to similar groundbreaking measures and provide sufficient publicity regarding the facility of booking vacant accommodations on trains.

Passengers travelling on short notice are advised to utilize the facility of current reservation counters located at the originating main stations or the internet. Railways rules dictate that reserved tickets can be booked up to the time of preparation of reservation charts.
