Unilever, today, announced to set up its first aerosol deodorant manufacturing unit in Khamgaon, Maharashtra with an investment of 50 million pounds. The company announced the news of its investment project with the visit of British Prime Minister David to the Hindustan Lever Business in Mumbai.
The company’s investment decision complements two new projects- one which was announced last week, with an investment of 70 million pounds for building homecare liquid and distribution facilities in Thailand and the other which was announced at the end of January, of building new factories as well as expansion of the existing units in South Africa.
The Khamgaon plant is among one of the 30 new factories to be built by the company by 2015. Investment in the plant will be phased over the period of three years and is expected to generate direct as well as indirect employment opportunities for hundreds of people.
