TRAI To Review Tariff Policies – Operators Oppose

Telecome operators of India opposed the action of TRAI of reviewing all the tariff policies, saying that the current regulations are totally perfect for the consumers. In response to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) paper on policy forbearance in telecom tariff, both GSM and CDMA operators’ body – COAI and AUSPI- today said that tariff plans of India is the lowest all over the world.

Expressing the same decisions, AUSPI said that the regulations on all the customers are going well. COAI also supported this view. In this scenario it is expected that the Policy of Forbearance in Telecom tariffs is withdrawn till the new licenses are issued.

The Supreme Court of India cancelled 122 telecom licenses, that’s why the number of service providers has gone down but still the level of connectivity is still intact. However, the Consumer Voice supported all of the proposals.
