Finally on Monday the Tamil Nadu government gave a green signal to Kudankalam Nuclear Plant. TN Chief Minister J Jayalalitha announced this information after discussing it with her ministers of cabinet.
This is a project of 2000MW which started in 2001, but due to public protests, this project was locked down from September 2011. The state government also cleared it that they will clarify all the points to the company before starting it again. The Chief Minister also added that, after analyzing all the committee reports the conclusion was this project is totally safe and local people won’t face any kind of problem.

Jaya also declared that Rs. 500 crore will be allocated for the development of Kudankalam and its adjacent areas. The committee which was appointed by the Union Government was also fully satisfied with the reports and had critically observed the issues placed by the local people.
