A gram panchayat of Nalanda district of Bihar has recorded the highest production of paddy this year. This district broke the record of China, Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar reported this on Tuesday.
“According to the data received from the Bihar State Government, Nalanda produced 22.4 tons of wet paddy per hectare and 20.16 hectare of dry paddy was produced,” declared by Sharad Pawar in a written reply in Lok Sabha. The record yield was achieved under the supervision of System of Rice Intensification (SRI) which was organized during farmer’s field during kharif 2011, Pawar also added.
Pawar emphasized that, “Nalanda has crossed the highest limit of paddy production of 19 tons in China.” This miraculous record has been recorded by Darbespura panchayat in Khatri Sarai Block, Nalanda district, this is also the native place of Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar.
