Private loans provider Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance planned to increase their number of products in the upcoming fiscal year to 18, and also planned to increase their subscribers 10 lakhs more by 2015.
The company is a joint venture between Edelweiss Group and Japanese Insurer Tokio Marine Holdings, is dealing about 5,000 subscribers in their nine products from the time it has been introduced in the market in July 2011, said Deepak Mittal, Chief Executive Officer on Tuesday.
He also declared that Tokio Insurance has thinking India to be the world’s largest insurance market by 2020. At present, in India 10-15 crore people are buying insurance per year. The 80:20 ratio of traditional and ULIP-based insurance product is also predictable to be reserved in the next few years as more people come into this market. Edelweiss has their offices in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Punjab and Delhi NCR.
