Azure Power to light the rural areas by solar energy

Azure Power owned a venture with United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and is going to access the development and speed up adoption of solar power in India. The $476, 670 will supply a 500 kilowatt micro-grid solar photovoltaic power generation plants will be placed in Gujarat and Chhatisgarh.

According to a study, Azure aims to establish 100 micro-grid solar systems. Each system will cover 2-3 acres of land which will generate sufficient electricity for the villages. Henry Steingass, Regional Director for USTDA signed the deal at the Infrastructure Luncheon hosted by the Federation f Indian Chanber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

 USTDA will create employment by exporting necessary US goods and services for priority development for the growth of developing and under-developed nations. They are also eyeing to develop the economic, social and environmental situations of the rural India.
