L&T Is The Top Bidder For Rs. 2538 Crore NHAI project

Larsen and Turbo won the project of maintaining and operating the national highway from Amravati to Jalgaon by paying Rs. 131.04 crore per annum to the government. For this project, government was foreseeing to have a lower level of premium of Rs. 5.5 crore.

 Apart than L&T, there were 12 other bidders, 7 out of them were agreed to pay different level of premiums to National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). The remaining bidders has sought for the subsidy from the side of government – known as viability gap funding – to maintain and operate the highway.

After completing the projects, the builder will also get the toll taxes throughout the year. The top bidders for this project were L&T Infrastructure, KMC Constructions, IL&FS Transportation Ltd. consortium, IVRCL. Currently NHAI has over 6000 km of highway projects in this fiscal year.
