Top shots lose $25 billion during 2011-12

Fiscal year 2011-12 faced a huge setback in terms of valuation with an entire loss of about $125 billion. Out of them, top 10 companies lost around $25 billion at the end of March 31st, 2012. This is the biggest loss in the past decade and to add more, the first loss after two huge profitable years (Rs.6.7 lakh crore and Rs.30.8 lakh crore respectively during FY 2011 and 2010) the country has witnessed.

Companies like Reliance Industries, GVK, Adani, DLF, GMR, Lanco, Jindal, Bharti and Wipro groups have lost way beyond the average market loss while companies like Hero, Sun Pharma, Bajaj and Aditya Birla have managed to improve their stock value despite some hard times the stock market has faced.

Experts feel that the debt crisis in Europe has impacted majorly on Indian market and is the main reason for the slow growth rate. We only hope our market will be able to sustain properly!
