Dunlop India is now ready to re-open its Shahgunj unit in West Bengal ending a meeting with the trade union representatives. Management has assured that the absorption process will be in three phases and also informed that workers who are not absorbed during this process will be relocated to different unit or will be given a Voluntary Retirement Service (VRS).
Dunlop will also give a written proposal on re-opening the unit and induction of workers shortly. Dunlop is a company famous for production of Tyres.
In other news, Caparo group has tied up with Harrison Spinks and Wade group, UK based companies for the production of Luxury mattresses in India. The joint venture of Caparo Spink Wade International limited will be investing Rs. 1000 crore to setup multi locational manufacturing companies starting with one on Delhi-Jaipur highway in Haryana.
Caparo India holds 51percent stake in the venture and the other two companies have 24.5percent stake each. Initially, the luxury mattresses will be imported from UK to India; while the prices of such products were not revealed.
Originally, Caparo designs and manufactures steel and engineering products, Harrison Spink makes high-end mattresses and Wade group produces furniture.
