Kudankulam Nuclear Project to start in 40 days

There is a lot of heated discussion going over Kudankulam Nuclear Power project. We had earlier told you that the 2000MW Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant got TN Govt.’s Green Signal after a long time.  these days; PMO mentioned that first unit of production of electricity will start in 40 days from now.

Sources confirm that some of the officials from Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) were inspecting the project and plant. First reactor of 1000 MW capacity will be operational initially. AERB is expected to give proper certification to the plant, after which Uranium, the fuel for power generation will be loaded into the plant.

Also, there will be a trial run of the plant for 20 days, after which first reactor will be starting to generate power. It will be interesting to watch how the work will progress in the first tier and second unit of another 1000 MW capacity is expected to be added to the power generation unit two months later.
