The fourth quarter of the last fiscal year was really a great quarter for Vijaya Bank. It had increased its net profit to about 234 percent. According to Mr H.S. Upendra Kamath, Chairman and Managing Director of Vijaya Bank said that the success of the bank was due to their increase in overall income while their operating cost has come down.

The bank is really doing good standing at Rs. 493 crore marking their increase in net interest income.
One the other hand, the bank of India also have a 2 fold profit for the fourth quarter that ended March 31, 2012 where they had a net profit of Rs. 952.73 crore. The Bank of India said that they had experienced an increase in their income from January to March.

The said bank had posted a net profit of Rs 2,677.52 crore for the financial year that ended March 31, 2012. Vijaya Bank posts 3-fold rise in Q4 profit & Bank of India net jumps 2-fold; to pay 70% dividend.
