The supply chain provider Gati Ltd still managed to gain 134 per cent in their net profit amidst having some problems with their shipping business. This was base on their profit for the quarter that ended March 31, 2012. Its net profit reached Rs 8.05 crore compared to their net last year which was only about Rs 3.6 crore.
Most of the profit of the company comes from their land sale which had reached Rs 7.26 crore for the last quarter. This sale of land is expected to be in good health for the year 2012-2013. This has been possible with the aid of their joint venture with Japan’s Kintetsu World Express.
Still, the company has noted that the slowdown in the economy is still affecting them really hard, but they do not treat it as a problem, but rather a challenge to perform better. They are expecting to have good profit from the partnership that they had established with KWE.
