Indian Aerospace & Defence Exports Is A 2 Billion Dollar Industry

ASSOCHAM, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, an apex trade association pointed out that the aerospace and defence export industry of India has registered of about 18% growth in the first three quarters of the fiscal year in 2011-12 and likely to get USD 2 billion in the current fiscal.

Where, aircraft exports including components and parts stood at about 1.31 billion dollars. ASSOCHAM is the highest body of the Chambers of Commerce of India, providing a forum for dialogue between business and government. It has a membership of over 2 lakh companies and professionals across the country.

An exemption from input tax and levies was asked for the contractors and sub-contractors based on the lines of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) by the issue of customs and excise duty exemption certificates.
