Good business performance of Havells India and GMR

The net profit of Havells India, an electrical equipment maker had rose by 21.33 per cent for the quarter that ended March 31,2012. On the same period of the previous fiscal, the company had only posted a net profit of Rs 75 crore compared to their net profit of Rs 91 crore for the latest fourth quarter.

The company has said that this increase in their sales was due to increase in investment. The ongoing fiscal year is also quit promising for Havells where they are looking for a growth rate of 15 – 20 per cent.

On the other hand, though it still there is some losses, at least the GMR had narrowed its Q54 losses by 64 per cent. This success in trimming down their loss was due to higher business from EPC contracts and the Delhi airport. According to Mr G.M. Rao, group chairman of the company, they are greatly affected by non-recognition of revenues from the National Aviation Company of India.
