“Users Should Get Minimum 90% Of Subscribed To Speeds” – TRAI On Mobile Data Services

The same as with voice services, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had just released a draft about the minimum quality benchmark for mobile data services. This is to make sure that mobile companies will be offering a standard quality of service to their clients or consumers.

This is really necessary in order to safeguard the interest and assets invested by consumers on mobile data services. With the regulation, TRAI will be monitoring the services offered by companies that offer mobile data services through a survey. An example of this regulation,  TRAI had suggested that the operators have to offer a minimum throughput of 90 per cent of the subscribed speed on an average.

This is really good since there are now a lot of companies those offer really low speeds compared to what they are telling in the market. A user that subscribed to a service of 100 Kbps should get a least 90 kbps on average over a period of time.
