Sahara Renews Deal With BCCI For Team India Sponsorship

Finally the tussle between Sahara India Parivar and BCCI is over, Sahara will continue as the team sponsor of Team India. Sahara is also the owner of the Pune Warriors team which is to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 5th season.

BCCI agreed to open the trading windows for the cricketers in Sahara Group. They are also agreed to reactivate the auction purse for Pune Warriors. The board allowed getting a replacement of Yuvraj Singh in the team who is currently in USA for his cancer treatment.

 Sahara had signed the renew sponsorship deal with BCCI on July 1, 2010 till the end of December, 2013, was paying Rs. 3.34 per test match, international one days matches and T20 international matches under the new term. The deal is of around Rs. 532 crore.

Sahara was the team sponsor of India from the last 11 years. But due to the sternness of BCCI, Sahara was forced to think so. Sahara bought the IPL franchise of Pune Warriors for Rs. 1, 702 crore and this is the most expensive franchise of IPL5. BCCI was about to lose around Rs. 2, 234 crore as Sahara was about to pullout their hands from the team sponsorship.
