Ranbaxy Declared Net Loss Increased To Rs.2982.7 Crore In Q4

Ranbaxy Laboratories, a drug firm declared on Thursday that the consolidated net loss increased to Rs.2, 982.7 crore in the fourth quarter which ended on December 31st, 2011. While, over the same period previous year the company posted a net loss of Rs 97.4 crore.

On the brighter side, net sales of the company, rose to Rs.3,738 crore for the fourth quarter against Rs.2,086.4 crore in the same period in the previous year. For the year ended on December 31, 2011, the company posted a net loss of Rs 2,899.7 crore against a net profit of Rs 1,496.7 crore in 2010.

On a standalone basis, by the end of the fourth quarter, the company posted a net loss of Rs 2,710.3 crore and had a net profit of Rs 55.2 crore in the same period last year and for the year ended on December 31, 2011, the company posted a net loss of Rs 3,052 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 1,148.7 crore in the previous year.

Coming to the shares, Ranbaxy Laboratories were trading at Rs 439.10 on the BSE in late afternoon trade, up 0.06 per cent from its previous close.
