Mahindra Looking To Assemble Its Vehicles In India?

Mahindra & Mahindra declared that it is planning to assemble its products in Russia. It was declared to the news here by Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) President of the Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, Mr. Pawan Goenka on february 21st.

This dealing with Russia will be done through the distributor of its South Korean subsidiary SsangYong in the coming two years. Pwan Goenka also said that the company is looking to expand the production of its sports utility vehicle XUV500 to about 5,000 units a month and expected that by the end of May the output will reach 4, 000 units a month from the present 3, 000 units.

This XUV500 is also sold in South Africa and about 400 vehicles have been manufactured and sold in South Africa markets so far. Plans have also been made to launch this vehicle in Australia but the offer was withdrawn by M&M to reach the domestic demand here in India.
