Foreign Investors Have Infused Rs. 14,000 Crores In Stock Markets In Feb 2012

The interest on overseas investors in Indian market is increasing tremendously. Recent statistics show that a amount of about Rs 14,000 crore was invested in the Indian equity market by the overseas investors in this month.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have invested a total of Rs.24, 225 crore ($4 billion) into Indian stocks since the start of the year 2012. Reason could be the net inflow of Rs.10, 358 crore January 2012. During February 1-17, 2012, foreign institutional investors were the gross buyers of shares worth Rs.47, 895 crore, while the equities have been sold for an amount of Rs.34, 028 crore.

This was translated into a net investment of Rs.13, 867 crore ($ 2.81 billion). Including the investment of Rs.799 crore in the debt market this month, the overall net investments by FIIs into Indian markets will coin upto Rs.14,666 crore or 2.97 billion in USD.
