Toshiba JSW Bags Rs. 2300 Crore Order From NTPC

Toshiba JSW Turbine and Generator Pvt Ltd received a Rs.2,300 crore service order from NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) for the supply of three 800 MW supercritical steam turbine and generator island packages. The news was released latest on Februvary 20th.

Sources say that these steam turbine and generator packages are used for the Kudgi Super Thermal Power Project taking place in Karnataka. Toshiba JSW has recently inaugurated its main plant facility to manufacture middle-sized and large- sized turbines and generators in Manali.

It was inaugurated by Jayalalitha, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. This NTPC contract is the first project for which Toshiba JSW will manufacture and supply the complete steam turbine and generator equipment at the Chennai plant.

However the support of Toshiba Keihin Product Operations was taken. This company is located in Kawasaki, Japan. Company will also supply some components of the turbine and generator.
